Tacloban City – FundLife Internatinal will deliver its first school-based programme after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Department of Education (DepEd). Amongst those attending the MoU signing was Fundlife Founder, Marko Kasic and DepEd’s Region VIII Director, Dr. Ramir Uytico.

The partnership with DepEd will allow FundLife to deliver its award-winning Football for Life (F4L) programme across public schools in Leyte. The highly specialized programme will combine football and positive values formation to support junior high-school students to achieve both football and education excellence.

The F4L programme will deliver informal, experiential learning to hundreds of students across Leyte. The programme is completely unique in that it uses football as a tool for sporting, personal and educational development.

“On behalf of everyone at DepEd, we are extremely optimistic about this partnership with FundLife. We believe there is so much sporting and personal potential across our schools that is not always realized – we look forward to embarking on this exciting journey with FundLife,” Dr. Uytico said.

FundLife Founder, Marco Kasic stressed that the program is a very important step for FundLife in being able to work with schools to support holistic development through our sport and education. “We have seen first-hand how necessary the inculcation of commitment in children is to help them reach their goals. We are deeply motivated to be work with DepEd and to assist the amazing work being done by school teachers to support children in often very difficult circumstances,” Kasic said.

The partnership will begin with a pilot program in Palo Central High School, Tanauan High School and San Joaquin High School, complementing the regular school year.
