USEC Jess Mateo discuss DepEd Strategic Directions

Candon City – Recognizing the role of the schools, divisions and regional offices in achieving Department of Education (DepEd)’s goal in expanding access to Basic Education, Undersecretary for Planning and Field Operations, USEC Jesus Lorenzo R. Mateo joined the key officials of DepEd Region I during their 19th Regional Management Committee (MANCOM) Meeting at Aloha Nui Events Center, Candon City Ilocos Sur on February 21, 2018.

In his discussion, USEC Jess Mateo presented the Strategic Directions of DepEd from 2017 until 2022, to serve as guide in delivering “Quality, Accessible, Relevant and Liberating Education” to the learners.

He also emphasized that DepEd subscribes to the Ambisyon Nation 2040 and Philippine Development Plan 2017-2022 of the President, also the basis in crafting DepEd’s 10 Point Agenda.

The Undersecretary encouraged the Schools Division Superintendents (SDS) to make use of the Strategic Directions Framework in crafting their Division Education Development Plan (DEDP) and Regional Education Development Plan (REDP) for the Regional Office.

The MANCOM Meeting was hosted by the Schools Division of Candon City headed by SDS Jorge M. Reinante and ASDS Nestor Herańa. Candon City Mayor Ericson G. Singson and City Councilor, Atty. Kristelle G. Singson were present to welcome the guests and deliver their messages during the Opening Program.

The Regional MANCOM Meeting is held every month to discuss pressing concerns and upcoming activities of the region.
