September 15, 2020 – To support the localization of the Department of Education’s Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), the Province of Aurora is embracing “LGUs in One Direction” for the implementation of different learning modalities for the class opening of SY 2020-2021.

In a Handang Isip, Handa Bukas press briefing on Wednesday, Governor Gerardo Noveras reported that School Division Superintendent Catalina Paez presented the BE-LCP to the provincial council and its municipalities to ensure that all the support of Local School Boards (LSBs) is aligned in one direction.

Governor Noveras said that budget adjustments in support of the BE-LCP were made through the Special Education Fund (SEF) of the province and its municipalities.

All municipalities have also allocated funds to assist in the production of SLMs, ADM modules, ICT equipment, photocopier machines, gadgets, and laptops for the needs of learners, teachers, DepEd personnel, and schools.

Meanwhile, the province is continuously seeking further assistance on the printing of modules and honoraria of para teachers and learning facilitators.

Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones in her message lauded the efforts of government officials and LGUs on the continuity of education amidst the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Sa mga Mayors at mga local government officials na taos puso talagang all the way, buhos na buhos ang kanilang resources, kanilang enthusiasm at creativity sa paghahanda ng opening of classes natin ngayong October 5 maraming salamat sa inyo. At kayo ay representative ng mga karamihang local government units and officials na talagang nakikipag-ugnayan at nakikilahok sa efforts natin na talagang matutuloy ang pag-aaral ng ating kabataan,” Secretary Briones said.
