PASIG CITY, July 26, 2023 – The Department of Education (DepEd) conducted the Inter-Region Internal Quality Audit (IQA) of its Regional Offices (RO) last June to determine uniformity in processes and services, and to ensure better client satisfaction and improved services across all offices.

This is in preparation of the Regional ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems (QMS) Certification of the 15 ROs (1, 2, 3, 4B, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, CARAGA, CAR, and NCR) scheduled in October of this year.

Spearheaded by the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development – Organization Effectiveness Division (BHROD-OED) led by Undersecretary and Quality Management Representative (QMR) Gloria Jumamil-Mercado and Bureau Directors, Attorney Resty Osias and Mario Bermudez, the Inter-Region Internal Quality checked on the harmonization and standardization of the processes and services across all regions.

During the IQA, the internal auditors from each region visited offices responsible for auditing the management, core, and support processes to determine their conformances to the requirements for QMS. The results from this activity will aid the regions in evaluating corrective actions for their nonconformities and in their promotion of continuous improvement toward enhanced and sustained client satisfaction.

The inter-region internal quality audit in all of its regional offices is part of the Department’s objective to acquire simultaneous certification under the One DepEd, One QMS initiative.

DepEd has maintained its ISO 9001:2015 Certification for Quality Management Systems on its National QMS Pilot Offices after the Surveillance Audit performed last month.
