DO 100, s. 1999
Accountability of Public and Private Schools in School-Related Activities
To:   Undersecretaries
Assistant Secretaries
Bureau Directors
Regional Directors
Schools Superintendents

1.   It has come to the attention of this Department that public and private schools initiate/undertake activities that entail the travel/transport of students outside of school premises.
2.   In such instances, the school makes the parents sign a waiver absolving the school of any responsibility in case of untoward incidents/accidents that may arise in the course of or relative to the conduct of the trip/activity initiated by the school.
3.   In as much as the conduct of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities inside and outside the school premises is primarily the responsibility of the school, it is therefore, the school’s moral obligation to the parents to accept the responsibility of looking after the students’ welfare and safety at all times during said undertakings.
4.   Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this Order is desired.
