The main objectives of the planning include the identification of programs (tracks and strands) that selected SHSs will offer in 2016, presentation of process guidelines for SHS Curriculum Roll-Out and updates on SHS planning and implementation, completion of the process in selecting DepEd SHSs, and refinement of the current SHS implementation plan of the Schools Division Offices (SDOs).

Undersecretary for Programs and Projects Dina Ocampo, who spearheaded the planning seminar and workshop stressed on the importance for region and division offices to have a standardized implementation plan to serve as the established foundation for the full operation of the SHS Program in 2016.
